About Bankstown Community Garden
Bankstown Community Garden began at the end of 2013 with a working party of passionate local residents who had a shared aim of establishing a garden on the grounds of Bankstown Public School.
We are continuing this vision and mission to fostering community engagement and promoting sustainable gardening practices in Bankstown. Our aim is to teach valuable skills and promote environmentally-based education for the school and community in the area.
Although we are known as Bankstown Community Garden, we are underpinned by an incorporated association named Darani Community Garden Incorporated (ABN 86 328 903 131). We have an Annual General Meeting once a year where ongoing members can vote for the Executive Committee.
Our garden is communally run by keen gardeners and community members, so we don't have separate plots for hire. We are a space for people to come together and build a strong sense of community. By getting involved with us, you can stay active, improve your physical health, and will learn about gardening and nature.
